Spontaneous weekend adventures are my favorite! And how lucky am I to be living in the city with unlimited options? The other day we randomly decided to go to a museum which is something we never really do but why not? We went to LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) and while we didn’t actually go to see any exhibitions except for one we accidentally sneaked in, we still had a fun day out.
The LACMA lights always look cool. It’s funny how they became famous thanks to the multiple music videos and movies. For me they are special because the first time I came to the US during my Work & Travel Summer I lived nearby and since then every time I visit I get sweet nostalgia of that fun and life-changing summer.
We were hanging out outside chasing Alaric who tried to get lost in the lights, eat all of the stones he could find on the ground and escape to the street, oh toddlers. I can’t believe how fast he became one and hanging out with him now is as fun as ever.
We got a couple of drinks at the LACMA bar while Alaric enjoyed playing with his glass of “agua” (this was his first word after dada and mama). We then continued exploring and it was such a perfect evening filled with golden light and such a warm happy feeling inside.
Somehow I didn’t realize before that La Brea Tar pits are right next to LACMA so we went there to smell some tar, haha. There is a nice green park too. We didn’t go inside, maybe I’ll go next time some friends are in town.
From there we walked to the Grove to grab some dinner at the Farmers Market, I looove the Grove. I also literally ran into “Ben” from Parks & Recreation (actor Adam Scott), kinda funny (love Parks and Rec, too!).
Anyways, it was a great day! I hope you have some great plans for the weekend and if not, hopefully you got inspired to get out and explore!
