These simple yet delicious raw chocolate candy balls have literally saved my life on a day I was home alone with my baby who got sick, I was craving chocolate sooo bad but didn’t have any at home and it was so hot outside to make a trip to the store. They say “When there is a will there is a way”, well I definitely found a way to make a candy with stuff I had at home, only 4 ingredients and there you have it!
Ingredients:
– 1 cup dates
– 1/2 cup raw almonds
-1/2 cup coconut shreds
– 1/4 cup cocoa powder
Directions:
1. Soak dates in water for 30 min, drain.
2. In a blender mix all the ingredients until it forms a sticky mass. In case your blender is not super powerful, you might have to pulse everything separately and then mix it together.
3. Form 1 inch balls, I used a tablespoon measure spoon to make them roughly the same size. If you want, you can coat the candy to make them a little more interesting using things like coconut shreds, sea salt, cinnamon, cocoa, sesame seeds or even chili pepper. Put them in the fridge for 30 mins, take out and enjoy!
Unfortunately, I can’t tell you how many pieces you can make out of this amount of ingredients because they were gone before I could count them O;)
P.S. I made them again and out of given amount of ingredients you will get about 18 candy balls.
