Do you ever look at someone’s photos and think: “Ahh, their life is perfect!”? The truth is – it’s not. Everyone has their own share of struggles, whatever they may be, the only question is how do you deal with them.

First of all, you only see what people allow you to see (makes me think of this fun photo project by Chompoo Baritone). Second of all, people claim they want honesty but nobody wants to hear you complain about the bad day you had or how tired you are, so we only get this perfect picture which is not necessarily untrue but it’s not all for sure.

This past weekend we celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary and baby’s 7 month birthday (on the same day!). Boy, it’s a wild ride! I am so happy and so grateful to have my boys, and that’s what really matters. They say “Energy flows where attention goes” so it’s really up to you what you want to focus on. I could spend a whole day talking about how exhausted I am everyday having a full-time job and a baby, that I have almost no time for myself, that Derek and I can fight over carrot cupcake because we are frustrated by something totally different but take it out on each other, that our house turns in cluttered mess an hour after I just cleaned it and so on, but instead I prefer to count my blessings. I’m not gonna lie, there are days when I turn into a little hedgehog and nothing seems to help until it just passes. But lately I have been really trying to consciously make decision to “turn that frown upside down” and it actually seems to work.

If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. – Maya Angelou
